Therapeutic Massage
Therapeutic massage is often used in conjunction with conventional medical treatments to help alleviate pain and revitalize the body. As the name implies, therapeutic massage is designed to provide remedial or curative benefits to clients suffering from various physical ailments. Although this form of bodywork can be very relaxing, the end goal of therapeutic massage is based on what type of condition it is intended to address.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that's mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This type of technique is used to help relieve chronic aches and pains, as well as to loosen up stiff or tightly contracted areas such as the upper and lower back, neck, leg muscles, and shoulders.
Relaxation Massage
Generally considered the most popular of massage services, a Swedish Massage treatment consists of varying sets of massage therapeutic movements including effleurage (sliding movements), petrissage (kneading movements), friction or rubbing, bending, stretching, and vibrational techniques. Typically offered at a light to medium pressure, with some deeper strokes in varied areas, a Swedish Massage can increase blood oxygen levels, decreasing muscle toxins, improve circulation, flexibility, and ease muscular tension and back pain. It’s a service that leaves you feeling better, relaxed, less stressed, and more physically capable of taking on life’s tasks.
Hot Stone Massage
A hot stone massage is a type of massage therapy. It’s used to help you relax and ease tense muscles and damaged soft tissues throughout your body. During a hot stone massage, smooth, flat, heated stones are placed on specific parts of your body. The stones are usually made of basalt, a type of volcanic rock that retains heat. Hot massage stones are heated to between 130 and 145 degrees and can be placed almost anywhere on the body.
Massage with Dynamic Cupping
Cupping Therapy is the application of cups to provide negative pressure (suction) to treat such conditions as repetitive strains, hypertonicity, inflammation, toxicity, chronic fatigue, digestive problems, anxiety and many others. Cupping encourages tissue release by stretching fascia & connective tissue increasing range of motion. Cupping also clears blood stagnation, increasing blood and lymph flow to skin & muscles and stimulates the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems to calm the body. Meridian systems which relate to internal organs are also treated using cupping therapy.
Prenatal Massage
Prenatal massage is therapeutic bodywork that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of pregnancy. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.
Sugaring Hair Removal
Similar to waxing, sugaring removes body hair by quickly pulling the hair from the root. The name for this method comes from the paste itself, which consists of lemon, water, and sugar. The ingredients are all heated together until it reaches a candy-like consistency. Once it cools it's applied directly to the skin.
Face, Hands and Feet Massage
Our face, hands and feet hold onto unnecessary stress. These areas are often missed as we tend to focus where the pain is. Benefits of this treatment are improving blood circulation, promoting relaxation, relieving aches, pains and stress, improving mood and anti-aging. Whether you want arthritic relief, mood booster or helping the aging process, this treatment is for you.
